Tangier is a port city in a strategically important location at the entrance to the Mediterranean with only the Strait of Gibraltar separating it from Spain.
Tangier is divided into the walled medina, and a new, modern city, the Ville Nouvelle by the Grand Socco, a busy square with a large fountain.
