We spent a couple of days exploring Kavala, an attractive port city in Macedonia, northern Greece.

The Imaret, built by Mohammed Ali Pasha as a Muslim seminary and a workhouse for the poor of the city. Later it was used to house refugees. Paradoxically it is now an exclusive luxury hotel.
